Nominees for the Football Stars Award are not chosen by the UAF
The organizers of the Football Stars of Ukraine award explained how the nominees for awards are determined.
“The media are actively discussing not only the winners of the award, but also the three nominees. And almost every year there are misunderstandings related to the incorrect interpretation of the rules by which nominees and winners are determined. Therefore, we will explain the mechanics of the award Football Stars of Ukraine-2020. The Ukrainian Football Association and the All-Ukrainian Association of Professional Football Players do not determine the nominees and winners of the award. They act as initiators and organizers of the event.
An independent survey was conducted among all PFL and UPL clubs, in which the head coach, captain and a representative of the press service of each team filled out a questionnaire, where they determined the best in their opinion. Further, the organizing committee of the award counted these votes and entered the results into the protocol, which was signed by each member of the jury and approved by a notary.
Thus, the representatives of the PFL and UPL clubs choose the nominees and winners. In addition to the nominations “Best foreign football player playing abroad”, where the UAF expert council selected 5 nominees, and the winner will be determined by the fans by voting in social networks, and the nomination “Best Goalscorer”, in which 10 goals were also selected for consideration by the fans. expert council headed by the first vice-president of the UAF Oleg Protasov.
